Hundreds dead in Indonesia Tsunami (video)

On September 28, 2018, a devastating tsunami struck Indonesia's Sulawesi island, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The coastal city of Palu and surrounding areas were hit hardest, with waves reaching up to 6 meters (20 feet) high in some locations.

The tsunami was triggered by a powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake that occurred just off the coast.

 

As the water receded, the true scale of the disaster became apparent. Hundreds of people lost their lives, with the final death toll reaching over 2,000. Countless more were left homeless, their livelihoods destroyed in an instant.
